Cephalocereus senilis or maybe Oreocereus celsianus as a starting point?

You may be right @cactusdrop very similar though. Mine is quite spikey though it it is difficult to tell from photo

E.lanata does get more spikey as it ages. I've got one close to 50cm high with some 3 to 4cm spikes on top. but as u say, It is always difficult to correctly ID from pics. I will post some more pics of my hairy cacti soon @scottulent
