I love pink Dahlias
@Sephy That's amazing Sean! From a cutting or tuber?
Shes now a tuber, was a seed year before last. very hard to get cuttings to root off her for some reason but one of my faves defo 👌 👍 ✌️ 🧘♂️ @gardengimp
@Sephy She's a beaut! Quick question - do you think all dahlia flowers look better from cuttings or just maybe the darker ones? 😕
I dunno tbf I've only had dahlias a couple of yrs now, sorta new obsession kinda thing lol. The cuttings I got from my preference (pink) and karma naomi (deep red) both did phenomenal and woudnt stop flowering haha. I might have a wider knowledge after this summer as ive about 30 new varieties. 😎👌👍✌️🧘♂️ @gardengimp
@sephy I'll give you a shout this time next year! 😁 I'm guessing cuttings put more effort into flower production because there's no tuber to grow.
@gardengimp i think it might be also having to carry the food storage from previous years rather than growing fresh new ones from new fiberous roots? I dunno ive a lot to learn yet *excited* 😁😁😁
@Sephy me too! Its a pity I can't bend a veteran dahlia growers' ear for some advice at a flower show this year, as I've been known to in the past 😁 Good luck with all things dahlia Sean 👍
Hahaa if i could help bud i would, Facebook has some good dahlia groups with pro growers but they take it very seriously as i found out recently lol so i tend to not get involved n just source different articles n YouTubers vids for info. Good luck to you too 👌 ✌️ 👍 🧘♂️

She’s beautiful 💕
Beautiful flower
Already?!!!! Wow @sephy! 💕
@trees.p you wouldn't believe the trouble this has caused me today on Facebook lol. I had to take the pic down because I was pissin a few experienced growers off. I don't mean any harm and gladly welcome advice, tips and recommendations jus really not feeling too patient with critics atm with all this stress around. Well my lil' girl gave me some happiness on sight this mornin if none else on Fb 😂🤣😂🤣🧘♂️🌌🌠🌌💞💞💞🧘♂️
@sephy omg seriously? They do take it very seriously tho 😉
Yea honest i didn't think any one would be arsed, usually my posts are overlooked but not that one!haha. Sigh*...... They do 🙄🙄🙄😜lol
Wow!!! 😍

Hello old friend x
All the effort is paying off 👍💟
I hope so ive got a fb friend going mad saying i need to be cutting them down lower to the 4/5 set of leaves and I'm in turmoil now because hes a pro. 😣 @ublaszko
I don't know but I think you can cut it back to the height that suits your garden. I cut mine back to 4th pair of leaves last year and they were still too tall. I'm actually not very good at growing dahlias though and only get a couple of flowers each year so now I buy plants in bud. 😅 I'm going to be miss out on them this year though because of 👑.
You could try doing different methods on different plants and see which one works for you 👍
Ill probably take his advice after a lil feed and re potting but i better get my flowers! Hahaa thnx its made the decision easier lol @ublaszko
I always wonder how the plants I get from my local market have so many flowers and they just keep on flowering. The ones I grow from tubers are never as floriferous. Btw, last week in Gardener's World they said that dahlias grown from cuttings perform much better and all show dahlias are the ones grown from cuttings.
Ye that's true, their considered old after a year lol. Then divided n stored or thrown. Its amazing how quick they grow from cuttings... I only got 3 last year and they were monsters lol @ublaszko
😂😂 Wow, that's very quick. I thought you had to wait until the following year to get the flowers.
Lol nooooo i havnt got time for that @ublaszko

Perfect pink...💗
Just realised my bicolour dahlia is a pompone but I guess the first flower didn't fully developed. I love this one, quite a soft shade of pink 😍

Perfection 💕 Did you grow these from seed this year?
This was actually a seed last year, i stored the tuber and took shoot cuttings early on....I'm glad now I love this one😎😁😁😉👌👍 @kez001uk
@Sephy aaah, that’s great to know they’ll appear again next year 😁 I grew some from seed this year but not even close to flowering I don’t think. Least I might get to see them next summer 🤣
As long as you dig the tubers up and keep dry and out the cold they'll grow again when they go back in soil on a heat mat (end of feb/march time). I'm gonna let one of these go to seed and if I have success I'll send you some if you want luvi @kez001uk 🧘♂️👍👌
@Sephy I’ll definitely give it a go, need to expend my 2 dahlia collection 😂 that would be lovely, thanks Sean 😁 and if I have anything you’d like seeds or cuttings of, just say the word 😛
Sorted darling 😎👍👌🧚♂️

Beautiful flower
I am beginning to like dahlias but don’t think I could be bothered to lift them. Can you just leave them in?
It depends on the coldest temps of your region and how well protected and dryish you can keep them. If in pots you can just lift the whole thing into a shed or garage until before moving out in spring. I prefer lifting so I can clean them up and clip any root damage before storing in dryish spent soil overwinter 👌😎😉 @houseofflowers

Still confuses me how this came from a seed this year? And pompone at that! Hahaha....I'll definitely be saving the tuber if I can, she's a personal fave 👌👍✌ #dahlia #plantid-dahlia
That’s definitely a keeper, beautiful 🌸🌼
I like how delicate she is. I have a blousy red and yellow one I'm going to try and overwinter for the first time this year. Wish us luck! 👍👍
