@shruti Wow the city of Bhole Baba !!! 🙏. Kindly give the name of the nursery too. It is my long time dream to visit the holy city. So if and when I visit I may visit the nursery too.
@somnathsarkar from where u r? In varanasi manduadih is a place, where 8-9 nurseries are side by side, i bought plants from there. In winters one must have to go to see the beauty in those nurseries. Those r famous in varanasi by the place name.
@somnathsarkar wow kolkata....most of the plant vendors of vns brings many plant in bulk frm kolkata and west bengal. So i think u vl c same varities there too.
@shruti: Kolkata has awesome Hibiscus and roses and palms and houseplants. All traditional plants. But lags behind in newer cultivars like trailing pansies or petunias or double Impatiens. Bengalis are resistant and hesitant to new things - you can see it in our political scenario too
@somnathsarkar i agree with it that kolkata has a very good collection of plants. Vendors brings many other plants too other than rose and hibiscus. Before few months i have shifted to another city that why I'm unable to tell u what r those other plants name. But i have seen that ocal vendors only grows local varities in vns for other plants they move to other state. Just like for taking Succulents they goes to west bengal.
@shruti: Thus Varanasi nurseries can procure both from the West (Delhi) and East (Kolkata). Delhi and Noida having many clients with international tastes, bring the international best sellers.
@somnathsarkar may be they also goes to delhi...but i haven't heard ever about going delhi... I'm a regular customer of those nurseries Nd my every 2nd sunday was fix for going there and they always keep on saying " aur plants west bengal se lene gaye hai, nainital se mangwaye hai" etc...
