How do you decide when to take the metal binding off?

Leslie @lesliecole49 basically "take wire off before it bites in". But it can depend on the level of refinement of the tree, the trees age and which goals you are working towards. With Conifer you want the wire to bite in a bit in order for the branch to set. Usually take off after several month, 1-3 years. The faster the tree or branch/apex is growing the less time the wire will stay on the area. Still need feeling, observation, experience, and botanical knowledge. 😁🖖

@muhammadabbas nice one Abbas 👍 and i think all juniper can be bonsai.. but my favorite type are Juniperus Itoigawa (its hard to get this type), Juniperus chinensis 'Shimpaku' or Juniperus Sargentii.. But actually the picture above is pines..

I just got a bonsai kit. And this one is in there. Do you have a certain spot you put her? How long have you had it? Is it grown from seed? @sinukarta

@alysha nice start one, black pine is rare.. yes I put her in the direct sunlight cause the black pine love the sunshine, they need little bit space to grow cause the root is growing faster. The first time i put it on the PVC Pipe to grow her roots and after that i repotting her to the pot with more space wide.. and yes its 15weeks on my side, and its grow from seed, i got from the nursery store.

Hi @marc7 setahu saya kalo mau coba menanam dari biji blackpine di Indonesia agak susah, karena ada prosedur penyesuaian cara tanam dengan habitat aslinya juga seperti stratifikasi/dormansi.. Kalau mau coba beli di onlineshop seperti shopee, tokopedia, atapun bukalapak ada, kalaupun ingin interaksi langsung di facebook juga ada yang jual.. Kalo saran saya, beli saja dari bibit.. hehe.. Smoga berhasil Marc! 💪
