Here's another new edible plant for my yard - the root beer plant. Leaves can be used in place of tortillas and can be eaten raw or cooked. This plant likes the shade and can grow about 6' tall. Leaves have a light anise (licorice) flavor. #edibleleaves #edible

Is this the same as sarsaparilla? I think that's what the Brits and Aussies call root beer.
