There is always someone sheltering inside these massive flowers just love going to see who's in them on a rainy day 😊
Ooh, how many flowers do you have on this @slj mine only has two, this is the first time I've grown them.
Brilliant name to such lovely flowers 💜
@sieveheadsarah I've had two many to count it's been in flower for a few weeks I think now it has about 20 open at the moment it's not doing as well as normal for flowers but it's been a very wet and cloudy summer
How old is your plant, do you bring it inside for the winter, so many questions (sorry), I'm planning to bring mine inside and hope it survives for next year.
@sieveheadsarah I started it from seed begining of march I do it that time every year I don't bring it in or any plants from the garden as I couldn't risk the house plants with the bugs that may come in. This one is planted in the boarder and will probably start to die about end of October unless it gets cold quick it can servive the winter if it's protected from frost in the garden I have this one on an obelisk so could fleece it but they are easy to grow and rampant so I don't bother
You can start them off earlier in feb that way they will be huge by the time they are ready to go out at the begining of June I did that last year and my fence was totally covered
Thanks for the info, I'll just be bringing it into the lean too so my house plants will be safe, I'll also start next years off in early Feb as you said, I'd love to have enough to cover the whole fence.
@sieveheadsarah I think putting them in the ground too in when it warm enough is a good idea if you can I think they lick to speed their toes

Struggling to open on this grey day 😊
You've done amazingly well with these👌 Mine all died off in early summer 😕
@jeatacake I seem to have a nack for them, key is not to put them out to early. I lost two but that was my fault, I didn't water them just missed too many pots 😂
I think that was where I went wrong, as the greenhouse was fit to burst at the time!
@jeatacake I wish I had a green house my house becomes one it gets a bit of a nightmare Feb to june 🙄
Can you not find space for one? Must admit that when I moved a few years ago & had a much bigger garden, one of my first thoughts was a much bigger greenhouse too!
@jeatacake I probably could squeeze one in but I've just told myself that when the 10ft trampoline goes I can have one then but I do spend time looking g for one that would fit in. My garden is small though
Small one now then a big one later! 😆👍
@jeatacake maybe I've been thinking of starting again in the garden it's not dun well this year at all. I will have to have a go at fitting it into a design 😊
Definitely & a good job to do over winter whenever we get any reasonable weather 👍
@jeatacake that's what I was thinking 😊
Sounds like a plan 😉👍
