So my Apple tree has come but now i am really confused as it is not the shape i was expecting g it is supposed to be trained for espalier but it isn't what i expected can any one help with #advice #espalier

It looks like it is perfect for that ?That is where you train it out along wires ?For narrow spaces right?

This looks more like a 'stepover' with just one layer of branches. An esapalier would have a central leader that you would train horizontal branches out from either side of the leader. Definitely needs following up with the supplier.

Yes @Muzz67 i just wasn't expecting the two branches and i am stuck now

@tash74 that's what i thought although the leader is till there it just seems to have an an extra one if you understand what i mean I'll post another close up pic and tag you if you don't mind

Can't you grow the two long branches out horizontally and grow vertical the branches that grow off them? Just a thought: https://goo.gl/images/1ANVmn

@lovestogarden i think i will grow both up at angles and grow horizontals of both I've planted it and will give it a week to settle and think about it more

It does yes @ukjohnny your very clever i have just been in contact with the supplier and they said the same that is the first set of horizontal s and the knew spurs will produce the next upright and then that will produce the next horizontal it makes sense now and i know who to come to if i get stuck along the way 😉 😀

@ukjohnny John explained it well This is sort of what I pictured.Goog luck. Please post progress pics.?

@Muzz67 i will and thank you to for your help 😊
