Hi. Any of my GTag friends know what to do next with this Dendrobium Nobilis Orchid. It had beautiful white flowers on it over early winter months and is now bound with vigorous growth. Do I remove old stems, or keep if they re-flower. Any help would be greatly appreciated..  #dendrobium-nobilis-White-towering-orchid @lydiastirling

Hi Mark. I think it may have been spring dream. Leave the stems there pseudobulubs also known as canes. Leave them as they are as they provided energy for the new growth. If you can I would repot it into a medium orchid bark. Make sure its peat free sadly one company put peat in there's. It suffocats the roots which you don't want but also peat not good anyway. On every 2nd or third watering from now till end of August feed it with a high nitrogen feed /growth feed and then switch to a high

Potash feed/boom feed and gradually reduce watering till about November. Move it to a cool unheated room were the temp can drop to 7c ish at night and dont water till about end of January when you can start remastering and feeding. The cold and no water trigger reflowering. The old canes will shrivel a bit dont worry about it but do give a light water if the new canes start to shrivel. You will loose leafs as they are semi desiduas. You may want to support the new growth as it can grow at

Strage angels and course the pot to fall over. I often weight my pots with leaca at the bottom. They do like more light than some orchids wich can be useful. I think you may have dendrobium spring dream.

Lydia, that's so helpful. I've noted all and added to plant notes. @lydiastirling
