Today I found this little guy at the corner convenience store. They wanted 1200 colones, which is about $2 American. He's in need of some serious TLC and I couldn't turn him down. They had it in a pot with no drainage, though I doubt they watered it. The thing is, I don't know if it's Echeveria 'Black Knight' or Echeveria 'Serrana'. I'm leaning towards Serrana. Can someone help me out? #plantid #plantid-echeveria #succulent #succulentid

I've had a look through the ICN as I'm not familiar with 'Serrana'. There isn't an entry for it and links provided on GTags on other people's posts aren't working. It does show up on Echeverias in Oz but doesn't have any info. I'd err towards saying it's an affinis, at least until it's flowered.

Also if someone could give me advice on the best course of action I should take to rehabilitate my new friend I'd be much obliged.

You're welcome 😊 I'd remove the damaged leaves and ditch the compost. If it's been in wet compost, allow it to dry out and then repot in a mix of 50% compost, 50% grit. Give it lots of light and water sparingly. Also make sure to check for any nasty creepy crawlies.

@Soph1e Again, thank you. Quick question though, how would I go about searching the ICN?

Google the International Crassulaceae Network and it should come up. There's a menu on the left hand side of the page listing different species or there's a search box near the top right corner.
