@lovestogarden they get curlier with exposure to sunlight. Plus, mine are 3 years old. They were straighter when they were younger. Also mine are under grow lights.

have you found any info about watering during dormancy? i've had such a hard time finding anything about them, especially when they are still so small. i had hoped to keep my a. bruce-bayeri & a. namaquensis seedlings out of dormancy for their first summer but not sure if they'll let me.

Cultivation instructions (so i don't forget): South African winter-growing xeric bulb. Curly leaves sprout in the fall. Sow in the autumn when the days are cooler and shorter, and keep moist through the first winter. Let it go dormant the following summer by keeping it dry, then resume watering the next fall.
