@emch yeah, I had two European wild gingers in this pot too but I moved the pot to deep shade and they got too much water & died. So I moved the pot back to where it had been before and it's doing better. #betterlucknexttime

Don't lose heart; they may be lurking still

The Canadian #wildginger is slowly making leaves. The european wild ginger (at 4 o'clock position) rotted and died, as did the European wild ginger at 12 o'clock. Turns out the europeans needed more sun and less moisture. 😀 #asarum-canadense #learning #alwayslearning 25 May 2021

In all seriousness @sushiwaitress I was starting to despair of ever succeeding with these easy-care, zero-maintenance wild plants -- it seemed they just disappeared after I planted them -- but now they are springing up cheerfully even in places I was sure they had died. For instance I moved the last piece from under the steps but now there is a single leaf coming up there anyway...
