Decided to repot my group of six #mesagarden #lithops into individual 3" pots because some of them aren't doing so well, and their individual needs have to be cared for without harming their neighbors. Not sure what caused the damage here. I originally potted this guy in pumice grains that were too big. The grains didn't retain enough water and they were pretty rough. Maybe this was an injury from a sharp piece of pumice?

I also saw a lot of what I thought were springtails in the pots this past winter, and I thought they were harmless but maybe I was mistaken about what kind of bug they were. 😕 Damage like this is why I decided to repot.

I tried to pull a dried up piece of old leaf off of my #lithopsleslieivventeri and the whole thing comes up out of the soil incredibly easily. The roots had barely any growth at all since I got it in February. Same issue with my #lithopsleslieisspburchellii. I don't think I removed any of the cork buildup from the roots before potting it back then, so I did it tonight. 26 June 2018

I watered their whole pot the other day pretty much only because these two guys were so shriveled. And then everybody perked up from the water except these. So I had to investigate, and when they came up out of the soil so easily I got more concerned. I really hope they recover.

Crazy, right? I was SHOCKED.

I absolutely ADORE the high contrast of the black lines on the white body. This guy was totally an impulse buy. I'd seen this species in a random internet photo which I emailed to Mesa Garden and said "If you have any that look like this guy, send one along," and Aaron got it EXACTLY RIGHT.
