It was only about an hour of work to prep these two beds once I'd amassed all the supplies.

This is the waterlogged #raisedbed in the back yard by the canal. I planted fuki in it last fall and it did pretty well. Third layer of the #winecap #mushroombed is #woodchips -- I dumped three wheelbarrow loads around the baby #pawpaw trees. The bed is about 4 feet in diameter and the wood chips are about 3-4 inches deep. 21 Nov 2021

These wood chips I got from #chipdrop are SO PERFECT for growing mushrooms because they are rough cut and lots of different sizes. From sawdust to large chunks. This means the mycelium won't exhaust the chips all at once, and the mushroom bed will probably keep producing for 2-3 years before I have to add another layer of straw and chips.

It's not 💩 -- this is #sawdust #mushroomspawn. The white flecks are the #mycelium that will become #winecap #mushrooms next fall or maybe even spring, if I did this right. 21 Nov 2021 #gyo #gyo-mushrooms
