I have a small urban walled garden of exotics, cottage, topiary, and a coastal garden I can't wait to fill with exotics, cottage, topiary...

It is exciting isn't it Susie. I spotted my first rose bud today too. Had to move closer, as I didnt believe it. Rushed in to tell hubby and all he said was "Very nice". No enthusiasm 😂

😄 morning Sue 🙋🏼 new buds are so exciting. Specially on new plants. 🤗 you'll have to get a 'beer plant' for your hubby then he might be more interested when it starts to produce 😉😄🍺 @susanhumphrey333

Thank you @rachelbrooks though it won't flower for the first year 🙁

Oh! Why? 🤔

I think it spends its first year establishing its root system and then the next it starts flowering. So I'll have to be patient @rachelbrooks 😠

I didn't know that. Is that all climbing roses? I have put two in this year, was hoping they'd be full of flower next year...😐

No I don't think so. Hopefully you'll be all right. I think Mme AC is a bit of a rule unto herself. I've also planted Claire Austin and I'm hoping to see some flowers next year. Which climbers did you plant @rachelbrooks and more importantly are they pink 😊💕

Oh I see...definitely a bit of a Madam then! I have planted Paul's Himalayan Musk which is blush pink (quelle surprise!) and Paul's Scarlet Climber, which, funnily enough, is red ❤️ I bought both in protest at Mr (who is called Paul) who keeps saying that I need to get rid of my climbing Iceberg! 😳😱 (it's not going anywhere 😂👍🏼)

Ooh they sound great @rachelbrooks funnily enough Paul's Lemon Pillar was on my list for north wall but I don't think it would have been that happy there and isn't a repeat flowerer. Why would your Paul want to get rid of the iceberg though? 😳😱

I've not heard of that one...I'll have to look it up 😊 the iceberg is growing over the pergola and quite close to the back door - it is incredibly messy (mainly in June when it's in full bloom) and the petals do get walked into the house and it also gives him the hump when he's just mowed the lawn and then there's petals all over it within 5 minutes 😁 but I absolutely love it- it is still flowering now, so suffice to say it will be staying! I am putting my foot down! 😉
