Pretty! It's Dame's Violet (Hesperis matronalis) though rather than Phlox.
Thanks @tiggrx ! Although I saw online just now that an alternate common name for Hesperis matronalis is Wild Phlox which must be why my dad and granny called it phlox.
I can see why it would get called that as it does have the same general look as a Phlox.
