With little knowledge, I'm slowly turning an acre field into a garden! This is my first gardening attempt, so there's such a lot to learn! 🐝🦋🌻

Help me identify this plant .. This turned up in the garden last year in a cluster, they stood tall over 2foot high and developed pods that initially made then look like they would produce interesting flowers that never materialised. Any ideas please? I'm guessing it's a weed and tempted to rip them out now.

It's Common Figwort (Scrophularia nodosa), a wild flower with tall spikes of small brownish flowers.

There would have to have been flowers to make seed pods. You probably didn't notice them as they are rather insignificant.
