Haven't updated on the #onions from seed for a while, but they've been sitting outside in their little tray for ages so I figured they could go out in the gaps where the garlic never came up.

Giving the #onions another trim, as well as clearing out the dead leaves and the ones that clearly won't make it. The left side of the picture is the half I've done so far #beforeandafter #haircut

Gave the #onions a bit of a trim yesterday and they're looking much better for it #seedlings #haircut

Can I ask why trimming helps the seedlings? I'm curious cause I'm growing chives from seed at the moment! :)

@waterlily I found a very interesting article which recommended it, I'll see if I can find the link for you, basically it's just trimming off where the seed hangs down and then keeping them short so they don't fall over

Onions are sprouting now but there's a web-like growth over the surface of the soil which concerns me a bit.

Thanks @linfoster. I haven't watered in the past couple of days and have also taken the plastic lid off the tray this morning so fingers crossed!
