This is another one but it’s about 8 yrs. old and grew 2 additional trunks pretty quick😊
The young one still has the one trunk but the base looks like an elephant foot. I’m going to shape this one up in the spring. It reminds me of that character on a show that was on many yrs. ago, “The Adams’s Family” I think his name was cousin “It”!! 🎄⛄️
@nej do u think I should do some type of trim on it?? I think I’ll YouTube because maybe I can make it look good I just thought the artist in you could suggest a shape?? Do you celebrate Christmas where u live??🎄⛄️
Hi Terri they can take pruning well but keep the wound dry. If it has a good caudex (the elephant foot) then prune it back to there and new growth will come out of that. I'm Muslim but I still do Christmas 😊
@nej this one has an elephant foot about 1foot in diameter it’s kinda my baby but I have a bulge like it might b making another trunk it’s on the top of the foot I really don’t want another on. Can I cut them?? I think this one would of looked better with just 2trunks!! The otherl young ponytail palm 🎄⛄️looks good with just the one. So I can trim it evenly around diameter up to the foot??
@nej well Christmas is nice especially for the children!! We have a lot of Muslims here in America Did you ever come here Australia seems like a nice place. Nice people. You don’t hear about anything bad happening there. Any cold weather?? Almost forgot do u think I should wait til early spring to do that trim??🎄⛄️
Let the new shoot form properly then prune it off neatly and yes do it in spring as it will heal quicker
Our Christmas is in the middle of summer so Christmas day is mostly barbecues. We don't get snow in winter in Sydney but it may on the odd occasion in the nearby blue mountains
So what’s a popular meat to bar b que for Christmas?? Here in Texas, this state is known for it’s bar b ques. After all this was cowboys and Indians. Very good bar b que usually here it’s brisket ribs or steaks. Do they eat kangaroo over there, alligator?? People here used to eat snake some probably still do!🤗🎄⛄️
Just the normal kebabs and fish
Do you fish often. We love to fish in the gulf and Atlantic ocean usually go from Friday head back Sunday. I bet your family enjoys that good food. So no alligators. They aren’t a problem?? Are big cats or snakes. I’m just interested would you recommend people to move there ?? I know some people had mentioned Australia to move too. Have a great weekend. You should do some artwork 🎄⛄️
