Can anyone tell me when I can expect these asters to bloom🤔 I planted them about three months ago

I thought Asters tended to flower late summer / autumn but I’m not at expert on these Ann, sorry!

I think I’m just being impatient Justin, they are so tall now, I was hoping they weren’t blind (if that’s the right terminology🤔)😂 @justin

Mine are tall too Ann, but won’t flower till September time

Thanks Joan 😘 @joanboston

These were hidden behind a dahlia - I obviously have a lot to learn on placing plants!

Love these

Haven't they done well though for being hidden! Very pretty 😀

Gorgeous plant. 😊

Very pretty colour

You and me both @thomasrat3 my garden is a complete miss match but it's fun learning 😂

Lovely 😍

And what a great surprise! 😀

I should know this but can anyone jog my memory please?

Isn't it part of the Aster family

@kathy @linfoster Thanks

Also known as Michaelmas daisy

@joanboston Thanks Joan, that's the name I couldn't remember!

And me I put it down to age😄

I call it a blonde moment ( poetic license) 😂😂😂
Can anybody tell me why all the leaves on my aster have white on them - looks like mildew - am I watering them too much or not enough🤔
Too much damp, not enough air flow, remove bottom leaves, space out plants and fingers crossed
Thanks Aly I’ll do that🙂 @thehardygardener
Your welcome hope it helps
Powdery mildew. Uneven watering can trigger it or when there is damp weather like we've been having in recent weeks. I usually spray plants with RoseClear to prevent it as we can't control what the weather brings us 🙂
Thanks Urszula - is it too late to do anything about it now apart from not watering too much🤔 I do tend to overwater 🙄 @ublaszko
Happens to mine every year, I was going to get rid of them this year and now they are fine. I think they knew 😅
Not sure if it's possible to wipe it off with some damp cloth and fairy liquid. Might be not practical. I'd move the pot somewhere less conspicuous and enjoy the flowers this year. Then cut it back after flowering and spray with fungal spray. My honeysuckle looks the same because I dug it up and didn't have consistent watering. Next year spray your after with fungal spray when there weather is damp 🙂
I have found a solution on Google - Baking Soda mixed with non detergent liquid soap and water which supposed to kill the spores. I sprayed the whole plant and covered all the leaves, it looks better this morning so fingers crossed @ ublaszko
