These are the only two Martagon Lilies that the deer haven't eaten (yet...).
Beautiful form ☺

We have problems with the deer here but our Labs do a good job
@tiggrx Like this lily 'Fairy Morning'. Think I'll adopt it since I seem to be away with the fairies most mornings. 🤗
@tiggrx Just Googled 'Fairy Morning', what a pretty colour! I'm only familiar with the species and the white varieties. I'd like to try some but I need to research them a little as I'm not sure my garden would suit them.
@kathy I only rarely see deer in the actual garden but when I plant into the woodland things often get eaten by deer or rabbits.
@tash74 I was hoping they would naturalise in this little bit of woodland so planted the species plus 6 cultivars to hopefully give a range of seedling colours. However I think I'll be lucky if any flower at all at this rate. I think generally they are supposed to be easy to grow so hopefully you have somewhere suitable.
They are a pain and if not them the blinking red lily beetle
Bummer on them getting munched by wildlife. :( mine are fenced in but I guess I will have to be more concerned about critters when we move to a much larger lot. 😬
@tiggrx Yes hopefully, I have a little border at the end of the garden which has woodland conditions, very dry there and mostly shaded under a horse chestnut and an oak. The pleasures of tree preservation orders in urban gardens! Its only small but having the trees gives me options. It's a complete contrast to my last, South facing, very open garden. I saw them planted en masse once at Daylesford, Gloucestershire, home of the Bamford family of JCB fame. They've been on my #tashwishlist
@sandraescapes @MelanieAt I can't really complain. I love seeing the deer so have to compromise by letting them eat here.
The flowers have opened up a bit more since this morning.
That is lovely Aaron #julieswishlist
Stunning 👍🏼
