Morning Aaron! This is lovely, I've heard of it before - just wondered if it's suitable for a small pond?

@tash74 morning! This might be a bit vigorous for a very small pond as it can form large patches over time. Having said that I planted this three years ago and it hasn't increased at all yet.

I did wonder! I was fancying some water hawthorn until I saw some in a lake a few weeks ago, it was huge! I did buy a few plants for the pond about 6 weeks ago but to be honest I just plonked them around the ledge and neglected them - they're all looking very sad 😥

@tash74 I gave water hawthorn in my small garden pond and it doesn't seem to take over. However that might be because the pond tends to dry out in summer keeping it in check.

@tiggrx How small is your small, I couldn't see a picture of it on your profile? My pond is really quite tiny, surface area of around 2m² and only 18"deep through the middle, shelves are much shallower. Also it's a rigid preformed one so won't dry out.

@tash74 About 6x3m but the water hawthorn never seems to grow in more than about a metre square of this and not a dense cover in that area.
