Anyone know what these are? At first I thought it was poo.. but might they be chrysalis?

It's the eggs of the lily beetle, I think they look and smell poopy in order to keep predators from touching them :)

@steadysgirl7 does that mean I have to get rid of them.. can I just cut off the leaves and put them in the skip? Don't really want to kill them or should I?

@steadysgirl7 that's exactly what it is... boo 😒 I'm not really a fan of killing bugs.. I throw all the slugs into the back field. I e spotted the Lilly beetle now too. They are in pots. Makes me want to throw the whole thing away.

This is my first year with lillies so Im not an expert but I know you take the red beetles off and kill them because otherwise they are straight back and can demolish a plant in days. The black stuff I've been scraping off and sometimes removing leaves that are so badly affected. I hate killing bugs too but these little critters are a trouble causer if you want lillies. Haha. :)

All the black gunky stuff is #lilybeetle eggs. Any red beetles you have to remove and kill I'm afraid and also any of this gunk or you won't have any #lily left to flower 😊

@hayleyaj and @steadysgirl7 I finally did it. It didn't feel very good but after speaking with my grandma she assured me it was the best thing to do. Hopefully I've saved most of the plant and I will keep my eyes peeled in future
