I woke up to this. And it's my favorite color! I really hope I can divide the rest and get more than one next year.

These look like #beardediris ... Here's what I know about it... It looks like there's mulch on the rhizome, so if there is, brush it off because it likes the rhizome exposed. Also, they like to be separated. I was brutal with mine last fall. Took them ALL out, separated them from the old growth, and planted back only about 10% of the rhizomes after trimming them back. Lastly, they need lots of water right now to keep blooming. That being said, I think you should pull them up and separate them...

Iris also like having their 'feet' facing the sun! So the leaf blade is essentially on the back of the plant!

@KariSamuel - I didn't know that! Thank you!

@KariSamuel can you explain what you mean leaf blade. Never heard of that.

@ktemory - each leaf, or blade (the green parts) should be furthest away from you and the sun. It's feet (the tan colored part with the roots) like to be facing the sun. You can't help what nature brings, but you can help them along! Picture the iris as a leg... The blades are your shins, the root is your feet... face the sun. Bwahahaha I just reread this... I'm not sure it makes sense, but I have iris I have to plant tomorrow - maybe a tutorial is on order!
