My rose buds have little green bugs on (see pic) do I need to spritz the plant or will they be harmless? I'd like ladybirds in summer but don't want my roses eaten!

@tom1986 They are green fly and are a menace to roses. I am organic so I just hose them off every time I spot them. You can buy bug killers if that's your preference but remember it will also affect beneficial insects. It's up to you... Good luck!🐝

I've always wanted to introduce a colony of ladybirds to deal with greenfly! You can purchase them online! Knowing my luck though they'd probably fly off to a neighbours garden! 🐞

Not sure whether I should or not but in the past I used to use a bowl of washing up liquid after I've just used it for not so dirty cutlery. It seemed to do the job and it never affected the rose as when i use bug killer it did affect the quality of the rose. Good luck. I will be in the same position as you once the weather gets a bit warmer again.
