Pennisetum setaceum 'Rubrum'

This is what's left of my ornamental purple foxtail grass after a heavy (historic) snowfall in March. Anyone know if it will come back?

Mine has looked like that until the end of June when I finally faced reality and put it in the yard waste!😢💘😍

I was close to doing the same today. Any thoughts on a nice replacement? I wanted something hardy with movement. The feather like foxtail was so pretty in a breeze 😔

I would look for a grass you like and go at least 2 zones below yours to insure it makes it, there is a multitude of grasses out there, so I'm sure you could find one you like!💘😍

Thanks Shelley, I'll enjoy wandering around the garden centre next weekend! We don't do zones here in Ireland but I think I understand the point, find something that the snow won't kill 😆
