@txgardener thats how I started my plants 😉 They are easy to sow from seed. Just plant, keep watered and they sprout within 2 weeks.

That's very encouraging I will have to try come springtime.

I love those. Theresa my trumpet plant seems to b losing a couple bottom leaves, it’s about 3 2/2 GT high great green leaves. Is it natural because it’s cooling off or do I need to make sire it stays moist I thought yellow leaves maybe to much water??😊💕

6w
comment
treefrog44

@terrimclaughlin I think it's just normal for the plant 😆 mine does the same thing. Could be reacting to a miss in the watering cycle. As long as the rest of the plant looks healthy, I wouldn't worry too much! 😉

6w
comment
terrimclaughlin

@treefrog44 Thxs I think u were right cause it’s fine now. I’m pretty sure it’ll bloom next year. Do u think it’ll b ok in the greenhouse or should I bring it inside? I do keep a small heater on when it gets below 32 degrees (in the greenhouse)🤗🤗😊💕

6w
comment
treefrog44

The angel trumpet can actually be planted outside in your area, mulch the root base real good, take cuttings to start new ones over winter. A freeze may kill back the top part of the plant but it will regrow like a rocket in the spring! @terrimclaughlin Or you can leave it in the greenhouse over winter and plant in the ground in the spring.... it's pretty hardy, just don't let it dry out... watch for spidermites if you keep it in the greenhouse 😉

6w
comment
terrimclaughlin

@tree44 so ur saying to just cut the top off far enough down to put in water to make roots?? And put it in the greenhouse. I keep two fans in there to avoid anything getting on my plant but I’d probably put the trumpet inside. I just want to make sure I understand. Let me take a photo and post it when I get home if I don’t mind can u just tell me how to cut it once u see it. Thxs😊💕

6w
comment
treefrog44

You don't need to cut it unless you want to have more angel trumpets @terrimclaughlin or if it's too big for your greenhouse...and it can stay in the pot as long as you want! 😉 I was saying to keep an eye out for spidermites because that plant can be susceptible to them when it's dry...

Probably not in my zone. But I am hoping to plant some bee and butterfly friendly plants. If I get to plant this year. Our State Fair gave out milkweed seeds for free to those who promised to plant them. Want them in back though, trying to work on front this year, but maybe get those in back too, not many.🤗

It's zone is 9-11. Can be grown in a pot, brought inside to overwinter.

Sometimes it's more of a pain to bribg in then back out...unless you build a small greenhouse :)

Yes I can't carry in very heavy things and don't have much room inside with light yet anyway. I work very very slowly. And my hubby is not into plants so help there can be hard to get . But he always makes sure I am taken care of. I am going to have to carefully pick out a few plants from my vastly increased wish list. My zone is 6B . A lot colder than yours!🤗
