This is so pretty, can it be grown from seed?

@tinaaune Yes! That's how I grew these. I have about 6 bolls developing on one plant, so lots of seeds will be ready in a few months. They are grown as an annual outside, not sure how it would do as a house plant over winter. Let me know if you want some seeds 😁

I would love some and I still have grass seed to send u I haven't forgot. . Just frazzled and too damn busy if u know what I mean🤣

Does this get real big Theresa? What's it's growing habits? 💘😍

@ShelleySnyder I'm in my second year growing cotton. It grows into a shrub, very similar to hibiscus. This one is in a pot, so it has stayed smaller, I was not sure if they would make it through winter. The growth stopped for a few months, putting out new growth now 😄 the largest I have seen one get is about 5 ft x 5ft. I imagine they can be trimmed to keep bushy and shorter

Why do you grow cotton? Do the pollinators like the flowers?

@lesliecole49 I fell in love with the flowers when I saw the plant growing at a botanical garden last year! Then I found out about the different color foliage. So I tried them from seed this year. The bolls are great for crafts and I want to make my own twine with the cotton 😉

@gjones this is my first year growing it, so I don't think I will have enough to do much with it, maybe make a few angel ornaments, and save seeds to grow more next year! I eventually would like to make it into rope to make macrame hangers 😉
