#red #pontiacredpotato #potato #determinate I'm felling pretty dumb, I just found out that potatoes are either determinate- grow in one layer or indeterminate- new growth needs to be covered. No wonder my last attempts at growing red potatoes failed 🥺 #keeptrying #tryagain #nevergiveup #keeplearning #gyo

So which kind is the Pontiac Red? Single- or multilayered?

@emch it's determinate- single layer. A russet is a good example of a potato that's indeterminate

I didn’t know there were different types? Thanks for the info! I’ve always assumed they are all the same, and when the new growth comes through with cover it with soil, and repeat again in a 3-4 weeks.

@richard.spicer.7906 right! But not with determinate varieties 😉 so new tricks can be learned! 🤣😂🤣
