@trees.p ... how do you store your Dahlia tubers please? I have dug mine up and I’m drying them off in the shed at the moment.

@liz123 this is my first year trying to lift and store. This one is drying out in the garage for now. Some I bought recently from competition growers I've tried in crates lined with newspaper and covered in shavings sold as hamster bedding. The National Dahlia Society have a Facebook page which is very useful and some members post videos on YouTube which are helpful too.

@trees.p ... thanks for the advice. I really want to store them successfully if I can.... it’s the challenge!!! Haha

My dahlia leaves haven't blackened yet, should I dig it up anyway to overwinter the corm?
@bluefox23 depends where you are really. I am trying to leave most in the ground but will put a mound of compost over the top once they've been cut down. Might even peg empty compost bags over the mound to keep out winter wet.
I'm in Gloucestershire. I lost my two dahlias last year as I left them in pots. So want to save this new one!
@bluefox23 mine in pots get dragged into the greenhouse or I use a plastic bell cloche over the top to keep them dry. Most survived the cold last year but if too wet they'll rot. (I'm in Bath so a bit further south)
Ok thanks 😊
