Time for a update. Been here for 5 years now so the garden is no longer brand new. It’s still windy, it’s still stony and I still have so many plans.

Morning all. It’s raining cats and dogs out there again. The garden is so soggy but I had a mooch around in a dry moment yesterday to see what’s going on. This is doing it’s weird and wonderful thing right now. #hamamelis #witchhazel

I just popped outside, it was mild but dank and starting to spit, soon as I came in it poured down 🌧

@telswirld went out to check my hamamelis after seeing yours on insta (after spending ages looking for it here doh!) it does have buds but also these. The fruit! I did some searching and found that the flowers and maturing fruit from the previous year are on the plant together. Never knew. Hamamelis means ‘together with fruit’ #hamamelis #witchhazel #fruit

Tropical Tuesday is making me wistful and wishing to go back in time. But on a brighter note spring is just around the corner. Here comes the Witch Hazel ☺️ #hamamelis

Only ever seen a witch hazel , year's and years ago in a gardening catalogue. I began to think I dreamed it until I join here. Obviously they went straight to wish list. I have been reading up on them and am looking for a set of them, that are a good price, and the usual problem, delivery to northern Ireland 😏

I wanted one for ages too @mrsstorm but it wasn’t until I moved here 4 years ago that I could get one. Would just not have survived in my old garden. The winter flowers are intriguing!

It's so frustrating when You Spend Ages Sourcing something and painfully compile a list, reduce the size of it to your budget , fill in all the registration and stuff, go to checkout and only to learn it says UK MAINLAND DELIVERY ONLY. It happen to me on here with crocus just last week 😤

That is frustrating @mrsstorm69 I must say I have seen it and thought about the consequences but not known anyone on the receiving end. Maddening! Is it expensive in reality? I have a similar issue with fabric. As a quilter I see fabric in magazines, fall in love with it, find it online only to discover it’s only available in the US, and shipping isastronomical!
