Well I never. #Acanthus #spinosus has 2 flower buds after me saying to @jeatacake and @broughgardens that I'd have to wait another year 💚💚💚
🙌👏 what a nice suprise!
I am so chuffed Nick, been waiting a few years to have these back growing properly @broughgardens
It must have been listening! Better check mine tomorrow! 😀👍
Had a good look around the leaves on the other 2 and nothing yet @jeatacake I am so excited by this, it's a baby off my original mother plant that I couldn't dig out of my old garden
If the rain has stopped when I get home from work, then I'll definitely be checking to see if mine is flowering!

#acanthus-mollis Looks like we've got some good growth coming this year if you can see it past the #forgetmenots. Poor thing had lived in a pot for a few years during the house moves

#Acanthus spinosus
Is it as #rampant as Acanthus mollis?
#foliage
Yes if not kept in check. Got a picture in my garden two houses ago of it taking over. I will dig out a picture of it. This is a side shoot of the original ☺
Morning all. #acanthus-spinosus buds just starting to appear 💜💚
Mine are at a similar stage... can't wait to see it in full flower as its the first flowering! How tall do they go?
Depends on where you have them @SylviaDavies If they're in full sun they can get really tall up to 1.5m
Ah right! its in partial shade and just a youngster yet! I may need to move it then!
Morning Julie 👋👋
They can be quite a thug and pop up a new plant from any roots left behind. In fact they can be quite be quite thuggish wherever they are and take over the borders 😂 Also quite prone to powdery mildew @SylviaDavies They are a lovely architectural plant but can be a pain
Morning Jane @pelly 🖐
Morning Julie , mine are going mad !!
Morning Julie 🖐 Think it's going to be a good year for them @juliesgarden
