Ok another big problem. So this IS creeping bellflower. Look at it all! Wow, my day off just got busy. If anyone has these PULL them out ASAP. To identify: stem is purple /maroon at the base of the plant and gets green towards the top. All the leaves are furry underneath. The leaves grow alternating directions (diametrically opposite ), leaves at the bottom are heart shaped and as you get to the top the leaves become more spear shaped and the flowers grow tall and upright in a line.
Good bell flowers are generally low lying/bushy, the flowers are clustered and not in a line upwards.
Yeah I accidentally planted some last year, thinking it was safe because it was at the nursery. Ripped it all out this week when @gjones warned me about it.
Good luck. That looks like a lot of work. I hope it's not as bad as goutweed
Good to know! I've had these come up in my garden too.
@gjones @MelanieAt I wonder if this would be a good plant to keep inside.... It grows like well..... Bellflower and most likely would do good in a pot? What's your thoughts. If it's in a pot it wouldn't be such s big problem growing wise.
Well no harm in trying, right @weekendwarrior
Can you tell is mine is creeping or another variety?
Creeping bellflower... Check out my first post in this plant
