Help me identify this plant in my son's garden this week ☺

It is Red Deadnettle (Lamium purpureum).

@tiggrx Is it an invasive plant that is best to "cull" ?

Yes probably best to remove. It isn't difficult to pull up but will produce a lot of seedlings.
