I recently bought 2 bricks on sale. They are approx 30cm square by 7 cm. They expand anout 20 times mixed with water. I have such poor soil I plan on mixing this with my other amendments when I prepare my beds for planting. @wtwitchell6969 @Sussanah
@lesliecole49 sound like something I need. I’ve got date palm fibre that’s all. We get out spelling from the French. Eg tyres. Tyers. Centre. Center. Neighbour. Neighbor. Toilet. Restroom.

Oh dear mine are in partial shade and afternoon sun there in coir and compost with sand for drainage @Sussanah
What’s coir
@Sussanah it's another term for coconut husk. It's sold in compressed bricks at garden centers for pretty cheap.
I use it at the bottom of my pots to always have moisture in hot days.
