PLANT 1: #echeveria #echeveria-bluebird #echeveriabluebird #bluebird #cesarepark 05.06.18 - upward growth pattern of Bluebird. It looks like it’s rising from ashes. Needs a drink.

It's lovely! 😊

@natii - thank you very much! 💗
@Yollymac - I’m curious, how do you know it needs a drink?

@pandabear, by the texture and shape of the bottom leaves in particular. Scroll to the side to see some other photos of it. You can also tell by how their leaves feel if you are new. Not that you want to disturb the powder on the leaves much. But they feel plump and harder when not dehydrated.

@pandabear - of course you can use a moisture meter also. Water when dry on the meter. 😁
@Yollymac - I see... cos the bottom leaves of my purple perle is quite soft and almost like folded in half... so wasn’t sure if it needed more water or not (too scared that I might kill it)

@pandabear - my best advise for you now is a moisture meter. That way you can visually see the plant as well as the confirmation of the meter. I used mine all the time when I had the big community pots. Not so much now that they are in their own.

@Yollymac fab picture with the shadows falling on it.

@pixierose - thank you! I have all my plants under 50% shade cloth after they got burnt over the heat if summer.
