Japanese Maple 'Ryu Sei' or 'Ryusen'

Acer palmatum are smallish deciduous trees with deeply-lobed leaves which turn red, orange and yellow in autumn. The flowers are red in spring. They have a compact tidy habit that negates the need for heavy pruning. They reach maturity in 10 to 20 years. 'Ryu Sei' (which means 'falling stars', or 'Ryusen', which it is also called, and which means 'flowing waters', is a pendulous form of Japanese maple. The light green leaves are star-shaped, and if it isn't staked, it will form ground cover. In Autumn the leaves turn orange
