Aeonium 'Greenovia'
Aeonium Aureum is a monocarpic perennial. It is also known as ‘Green Rose Buds’ ,'Baby Green Rose Buds',‘Mountain Rose’ and formally known as ‘Greenovia Aurea’ and originates from The Canary Islands. After its summer dormancy, the plant opens up to form a bright green rosette of leaves with young pups developing around its base. During late spring and summer when the main head and pups shrink resembling small bunches off unopened rose buds. This is why it is also known as Mountain Rose Its main growing period is late autumn, winter and spring. Water well in the winter growing season but keep watering minimal and infrequent over the dormant summer months Grow in free draining potting mix, applying a small amount of fertiliser in autumn to promote new growth. Aeonium Aureum tend to prefer a semi shade position to maintain good colour and shape.
