Description (according to R. Nyffeler in IHSP, 2003) : Perennial densely branched shrublets to 60 cm. Branches ascending or pendent, tortuous, 3 - 6 mm in diameter, glabrate, ± reticulate. Rosettes 6 - 11 cm in diameter, rather flattish, inner leaves ± erect Leaves 3 - 5.5 x 1.5 - 3 cm, 2.5 – 4 mm thick, obovate, apically acute, caudate, basally cuneate, often rather strongly glaucous, glabrous, margin with curved cilia (0.4 - 0.8 mm), green or yellowish green, often reddish variegated. Inflorescences lax, semiglobose, 6 - 16 x 6 - 16 cm, peduncle 1 - 9 cm, pedicels 2 - 12 mm, glabrous.
