Aeonium, or Tree House Leek, is a succulent plant with rosettes of fleshy green leaves. Panicles or racemes of small starry flowers are produced in Spring. 'Short Black' has dark red rosettes of leaves. According to Rudolf Schulz, Aeonium in habitat and cultivation, 2007, this is "a mutation of A. 'Zwartkop' which branches profusely and forms compact mounds", only up to 30 cm tall.(ICN)
