A clump-forming, evergreen or deciduous perennial with broad, strap-shaped, dark green leaves and large, rounded heads of trumpet-shaped flowers in shades of blue, lilac or white, often with a central stripe on the petals. It flowers in summer to early autumn. 'Lavender Haze' is an evergreen form with lavender blue flowers.
