A clump-forming, evergreen perennial with broad, strap-shaped, dark green leaves and large, rounded heads of trumpet-shaped flowers, often with a central stripe on the petals. It flowers in late summer and early autumn. 'Thumbelina' is an evergreen variety and grows to about 1 metre tall. It has white flowers formed from 6 petals. Flowers mid to late summer.
