Alstroemeria hookeri

 

Hooker's Peruvian Lily

Clump-forming tubers that send up upward-facing leaves and flowers on stems up to 1.5 metres tall. The flowers, which have 6 sepals up to 5 cms. long, 6 curving stamens, and a stigma with 3 lobes. Alstroemeria hookeri is a dwarf species with pink flowers that are streaked with dark red. The flowers are almost as large as the flowers of taller varieties of Alstroemeria.
