Amaryllis belladonna
Jersey Lily
Amaryllis is a small genus of bulbous plants where only two species exist. Both originate from South Africa (NB - They are not the same as the commonly called 'Amaryllis' which are from South America and are botanically called Hippeastrum). Amaryllis belladonna produces leaf less stems with large pink flowers at the top, bearing white throats, often between four to six per stem. The often appear in the Autumn, followed by the leaves which then grow through the winter months.
