Anisodontea are hollyhock-like plants which can be annual, biennial or perennial, some species of which are edible.The leaves are alternate and palmately lobed. The flowers have 5 petals and are up to 5 cms. in diameter. Anisodontea Malvastroides has pale pink flowers. Anisodontea 'El Royo' is an upright hardy shrub with lobed leaves and hibiscus-like pink flowers from summer into autumn suitable for a sunny sheltered position.
