Columbine Mini-Star in the GardenTags plant encyclopedia

Aquilegia flabellata 'Mini-Star'

Columbine 'Mini-Star'

Growing only 6" tall Mini-Star Columbine, Aquilegia, works wonderfully in small gardens, in front of the border or in spring containers. Delightful bright blue flowers with white corollas adorn delicate looking stems. Mini-Star's unique lobed leaves look fantastic all season, creating a lacy, soft landscape. Though perennial, they are best treated as biennials as cultivars can be short-lived. Remove flower-heads to prevent the plant going to seed as they self seed.
