Silver Spear in the GardenTags plant encyclopedia

Astelia chathamica

Silver Spear

Unusually for a silver foliage plant, this one prefers shade in a sheltered spot. Also unusually for a silver plant, it has a pleasing satin sheen to the leaf. Native of the Chatham Islands near New Zealand, forms a large clump of silvery, sword-shaped leaves, with panicles of small greenish flowers followed, on female plants, by orange berries
