Banksia serrata

Saw Tooth Banksia

Banksia.serrata is normally a tree which can grow to 15 metres in height in favourable conditions. Sometimes it forms a stunted and gnarled looking small tree as a result of bush-fires. The leaves are large, with toothed edges, and it bears flower spikes, usually cream coloured, about 120 mm long, and which are followed by seed cones that have long protruding follicles.
