Angel's Wing

Caladiums are tropical plants grown for their colorful foliage, and often grown as a houseplant or summer bedding plant. Caladium Candidum will grow to produce numerous leaves each of which may reach up to 30cm in height. 'Caladium Lindenii', named after Belgian botanist Jean Jules Linden, is a perennial foliage plant with bright green leaves with very pronounced white veining. Warning: all parts of the plant contains calcium oxalate crystals, so keep out of reach from young children and pets. Handling plant may also cause skin irritation so handle with care.

Although Caladium does not produce flowers, it is grown for its impressive colourful foliage which appears from early spring until it dies down in Autumn.

 

Planting

From Early Spring TO Early Spring

Start the tubers into growth in early spring at a temperature of 21C. Place the tubers into a box of damp peat or moss and syringe them twice daily. Once growth emerges, plant them into pots of proprietary peat mixture. Good drainage is essential.
