Camellia sasanqua 'Yume'

Camellia 'Yume'

Camellia are evergreen shrubs which can be spreading or upright with shiny deep green leaves bearing lovely single or double white, pink, red or even bi-coloured flowers from late winter to mid spring. Camellia sasanqua is an Autumn-flowering camellia, flowering from mid Autumn to mid Winter - depending on the cultivar. Sasanqua camellias can be grown in soils that are nearer to a neutral ph, and will also tolerate drier or wetter conditions better than most other camellias. They also grow well in higher light than other camellias, and so are best grown in a sunny, sheltered position. Some of the compact varieties make plants for growing in containers. The more shrubby varieties can be grown as hedging. 'Yume' is a small winter flowering Camellia with alternating pink and white petals and prominent yellow stamens.
