Camellia 'Bowen Bryant'
Camellia are evergreen shrubs which can be spreading or upright with shiny deep green leaves bearing lovely single or double white, pink, red or even bi-coloured flowers from late winter to mid spring. Camellia williamsii have smaller leaves than other camellias, and are more hardy than many other camellias, and therefore more suitable for growing in exposed areas that have cold Winters, and where the intensity of light is lower (such as the northern areas of Britain). They have the added bonus of dropping their spent flowers, thus saving the task of removing spent blooms by hand! 'Bowen Bryant' is an evergreen shrub producing a profusion of large, semi-double deep-pink flowers with a center of orange stamens. Dark green, glossy foliage and a strong upright habit. The following year’s flower buds are set shortly after they bloom, so if needed, prune them directly after flowering.

Propagation by cuttings
From Mid Summer TO Early Autumn
Semi hard wood cuttings are taken from the current years growth from late summer to mid autumn the bottom of the cuttings is hard and soft on the top. With a sharp knife take a cutting of about 14cms, remove lowest leaves, dip end into rooting hormone, and place round the edge of a pot filled with a suitable compost, water well, they must remain moist till rooted, place under glass but in semi shade.
